What Happens to Your Family Circle
If You Stop Paying for Premium

What You Keep on the Free Tier
Live family map for up to 2 devices
Ring and flashlight — find a silent or misplaced phone
Battery status for connected devices
SOS alerts to your circle
What You Lose Without Family Premium
Devices beyond the first two
The free tier supports up to 2 devices — a larger family circle needs Premium to keep every member connected, including safe zone alerts for anyone beyond the first two.
Location history
The private timeline of where a device has been throughout the day is a Premium feature — free tier shows live location only, not history.
Safe zone / arrival alerts
Automatic notifications when someone reaches a set zone (home, school, office) require Premium — this is the feature most tied to the everyday reassurance use case.
Anti-theft snapshots and remote lock
Lost Mode's remote lock and photo-on-unlock-attempt features are part of Premium, along with priority support.
What Doesn't Get Deleted
Letting a subscription lapse doesn't erase your family circle, your account, or your connections to other members — it just limits which features are active. If you resubscribe later, your existing circle, zones, and settings are still there rather than needing to be rebuilt from scratch. Past location history accumulated during a Premium period isn't retroactively deleted either, though new history stops recording until Premium is active again.
If You're Considering Downgrading
If your family has more than 2 devices, decide together which ones matter most before hitting the free tier's device limit
If arrival alerts are the feature your family relies on daily, weigh that specifically — it's the one most tied to everyday use, not just emergencies
Annual billing works out cheaper per month than monthly if you're confident you'll keep using it — worth checking current pricing on the app's subscription screen
