What Matters Is the Phone, Not the SIM
Raksha tracks the device, not a specific SIM card. Whichever number was used to log in and verify the phone becomes the account's identity in the family circle — location, battery, ring, and alerts all work off the phone itself. Having a second SIM in the same handset for calls or data doesn't change any of that; the phone is still one device with one Raksha account.
Where People Get Confused
A family member logs in with their personal number but is usually reached on their work number — the circle still shows the phone correctly, just labeled by whichever number was used to sign in
Switching a SIM out of the phone (not adding a second one, but swapping) can trigger a re-verification the next time the app checks in, since the login is tied to a number
A spare travel SIM used only for data, with no calling number tied to the app account, doesn't need anything set up separately — it's just how the phone gets internet, and location updates flow the same way
If Someone Switches Their Login Number
Changing the number the app is logged in with — not just adding a second SIM, but actually re-verifying with a different one — is the one case that needs a deliberate step. Recovering account access under the new number keeps the same device history and circle membership intact; it isn't the same as being removed and re-added.
A Common Real-World Case: One Phone, Two Roles
It's common for one person to carry a work SIM and a personal SIM in the same phone — a parent who takes office calls on one line and family calls on the other, for instance. The family circle doesn't need to know about the work SIM at all. As far as tracking, safe zones, and SOS are concerned, it's one phone with one location — the second SIM slot is invisible to the setup.

Dual-SIM only matters to Raksha at the moment of login. Once the phone is set up and part of the circle, everything else — live location, safe zones, ring, SOS — runs off the device, regardless of how many numbers are active inside it.
