Two phones, one moving vehicle — the map shows two dots, not one, and they won't sit perfectly on top of each other. Here's why, and how to read it correctly.

Two Phones, Two Dots — That's Correct Behavior
Each phone reports its own GPS location independently, so if a parent and a teenager travel together in the same car, the family circle will show two separate markers moving in tandem, not one combined marker for "the car." This is expected — Raksha tracks phones, not vehicles — and both members will show as being at the same place, moving the same route, for as long as they're actually together.
Why the Two Dots Aren't Perfectly Stacked
GPS accuracy varies phone to phone, sometimes by 10-20 meters, depending on chipset, sky visibility, and how recently each phone got a location fix. Two phones sitting in the same car seat will often show as close but not identical points on the map — a small, harmless discrepancy, not a sign that one location is wrong. Safe Zone Alerts Will Fire for Both, Separately
If both phones are in the family circle and both enter a safe zone together, expect two separate arrival notifications, one per device, even though it's a single trip. It's a minor duplication worth knowing about in advance so it doesn't read as a glitch — each phone genuinely did cross the boundary on its own.
Useful for Confirming Who Actually Rode Along
This becomes genuinely useful in exactly the situation where it might otherwise seem redundant: confirming that a parent actually accompanied a child to an appointment, or that two family members really did travel together rather than separately, without anyone needing to ask.
